Walking for Water 2017

Back by popular demand… our annual fundraiser ‘Walking for Water’ will be taking place on Sunday 15th October.

Challenge yourself to raise some vital funds for us and make a real difference to south India’s most water-deprived communities.

DATE: Sunday 15th October, 2017, 2-5pm

MEET: 2pm, Pistachios in the Park, Hampton Wick, Bushy Park, KT1 4ET

Women and children walk miles to collect water in rural India. Our annual ‘Walking for Water’ fundraising challenge gives you the opportunity to help us raise vital funds to support villagers to restore reservoirs and rainwater-catchment systems instead.

We and our NGO partner in Tamil Nadu work together on restoration programmes to make household and drinking water for 1,000s of villagers available to hand: saving women from walking for hours in extreme heat to fetch water.

So please do sign up to join us in walking 6 miles on Sunday 15th October so that women in rural India no longer have to. All we need you to do is set up your JustGiving fundraising page here to join this event. Simply click on the orange ‘start fundraising’ button on our JustGiving page and you’re away!

CAN’T MAKE IT? Why not join our first ever ‘virtual challenge’?

For the first time ever we will be running a 6 mile virtual challenge which you can take on whenever you like in October, wherever you like and however you like… with all of your sponsorship money going towards our water and sanitation projects in rural India.

The 6 mile virtual challenge can be anything you like, the only rules are :

  • It has to be completed in the month of October
  • It must cover the 6 mile distance (the distance of our traditional ‘Walking for Water’ walk.
  • It must be done in exchange for sponsorship money
