This is SERENA FASS' eighth lecture at the RGS since her Gujarat Earthquake Appeal in 2001. She has been visiting India since 1969, firstly at the invitation of HH the Maharaja of Baroda and in 1970 and 1971 to assist her sister Virginia with PALACES OF INDIA and later FORTS OF INDIA. In 1974 she produced FACES OF INDIA, an anthology of her photographs and Indian poetry to raise money for Mother Theresa of Calcutta. Serena has returned to India almost every year since then, for weddings, to inspect her friends' new Hertigage Properties and to lead tours for TransIndus Travel.
